Hi PACT families! I’m Betsy Minnaert, your new Community Education Coordinator. I started in mid-July and have been busy getting after-school programs ready to begin on the first day of school.
Here’s a little about me: I spent more than ten years as an Extension Educator with the University of Minnesota’s Center for Youth Development. Before that, I worked as a 4-H Educator with the University of Wisconsin Extension. I have a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Minnesota and an M.A. in International Development from the University of Denver.
Working with youth has always been at the heart of my career, and I’m excited to use that experience at PACT to create fun, hands-on learning opportunities that get kids excited to come to school. I look forward to meeting many of you soon!

- Registration for all Quarter 1 programs must be completed through Bound, our new registration software.
- Programs will only be held on days when students are in the building. If there is no school, no programs will be held that day.
- A minimum of 6 students is required for a community education program to run.
- Each class can accommodate up to 24 students.
- Registration will close once a class reaches the maximum capacity of 24 students.
Fees:
- Class fees are based on a $10/hour rate
- Specific fees are listed with each class
Fines:
To ensure the safety of all students and respect our staff’s time, we have a strict late pickup policy. Parents and guardians must pick up their children promptly at the end of each activity.
- Late Fine: A fine will be issued for each late pickup and invoiced through your ParentSquare account.
- Parents will be fined $25 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments ($6.25 for 15 minutes late, $12.50 for 30 minutes late).
- The first late pickup of 15 minutes or less will result in a warning. The second will result in a fine, and the third will result in a fine and program removal for the remainder of the quarter. If the first pickup is over 15 minutes, the warning will be waived, and a fine will be assessed.
- Fees will not be reimbursed if a child is removed from a program.
Important Notes:
- Community Education programs are separate from MSHSL-sponsored sports and do not count toward a family’s activity fee maximum.
- Families eligible for free or reduced lunch can receive a 50% discount on one Community Education class per quarter by completing the Educational Benefits Form.

Your selected days must remain the same for the entire semester. For example, picking Monday and Thursday means the student attends Panther Den only on those two days every week.

Play, find friends, and get creative in the Panther Den. The Panther Den is a fun after-school care program that combines fun enrichment activities with a relaxed, supportive environment. Each day will include a recreation activity and then a variety of activity choices related to the theme of the week. Choice-based programming allows your child to make decisions about how they want to spend their time while in our program, which can help develop leadership skills and confidence. Come join us in the Den.

This club is all about getting creative with colors and shapes! Get ready to get messy as you express yourself with creative art projects. Students will create pieces of art in each class and have a take-home masterpiece each week. Beautiful art awaits.

Do you enjoy building? Join us for hands-on projects that allow students to explore engineering, creativity, and problem-solving. Using LEGOs and other materials, students will design, construct, and bring their ideas to life while learning teamwork and developing a passion for building.

Get ready to move, groove, and have fun! The 3-5 Dance Club is a lively, creative space where our youngest dancers can explore different dance styles. Students will develop coordination, rhythm, and confidence while enjoying music, games, and group performances. No experience is needed—just bring your energy and enthusiasm! Students will have the option of performing in a parade on 9/12 and a fall show on 10/10.

This club is for both boys and girls who are interested in a collaborative team experience. Coaches will play as the quarterback, and at each session after the first, students will experience both a practice and a scrimmage. Hike, catch, run, and grab. Are you ready for some flag football?

Discover craft building with toy building kits from Home Depot. Students will get to build wooden projects, paint or stain them, and take them home. Create a go-cart, goalie game, keepsake box, and more. Let the sawdust fly!

Let's take flight. Learn the basics of flight dynamics by working with paper and wooden airplanes to test wind resistance and discover how airplanes work. Students in grades 2–5 will explore the exciting world of robotics through hands-on projects and challenges. Using building kits and simple programming, students will design, build, and test their own robots while developing essential skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking.

The PACT Youth Boys Basketball league is designed for boys in grades 2 through 4, focusing on developing basic basketball skills while providing a fun and supportive environment for them to play with their classmates. The season will include two practices per week and 10–12 games to be played on Saturdays. Our teams will compete in the PACT-hosted in-house league primarily made up of schools within our conference. All games will be held at PACT, with 2nd grade playing at the Elementary Campus and 3rd and 4th grade games being played at the Secondary Campus. Teams will be formed once a minimum of seven players are registered and if the league has enough participating teams. Additional details will be provided near the start of the season.

Join us for the North Twin Cities Basketball League — a multi-community recreational league designed to provide a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for girls in grades 2–8 to grow in both skill and character. The practices begin in mid September, with games starting in October and playoffs scheduled for December. All practices will be at PACT Elementary or Secondary School. Games will be on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the season, and will be held at the gyms of participating schools in the area.
The league focuses on skill development, sportsmanship, and balanced competition. Teams are built to encourage fair play — not to create stacked "all-star" rosters — and families are encouraged to model positive behavior both on and off the court. Whether your child is new to the game or looking to build on existing skills, this league is a great place to play and grow.
