Conferences, Celebrations, and Classroom Highlights

March 2026

Dear PACT Elementary Families,

The past several weeks have been filled with meaningful learning, joyful celebrations, and wonderful opportunities to partner with our school community. I’m grateful for the continued support you show our students and staff each day. Below are a few highlights from the past month at PACT Elementary.

Partnering with Families

On Friday, February 20, I hosted our second “Principal Perk-Up” of the school year. These informal gatherings are a great opportunity for families to ask questions and share ideas. During this session, we discussed the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) used at PACT and how formalized assessments vary across grade levels. Thank you to those who attended and contributed to a thoughtful conversation about supporting student learning.

Community Connections

A handful of PACT elementary staff members and families attended the PACT Boosters Club “Paint the Town Red” Gala on Saturday, February 28. Events like this help strengthen our school community while supporting important programs for our students.

We are also very thankful to our PTO, which provided both breakfast and dinner for our teachers during Parent-Teacher Conferences. These gestures mean a great deal to our staff during a very busy time.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

We were thrilled with the high percentage of PACT families who attended conferences in February. Strong family partnerships are essential to student success, and we appreciate your time and involvement.

Families also shared positive feedback on the new “open house” format in the gym for grades 4–5, which enabled flexible conversations with teachers.

As we plan ahead for future conferences, we would love your feedback. Which format do you prefer?
  • Evening conferences on school days
  • Morning conferences held on a non-school Friday

Please fill out this brief survey to let us know your preferences. Your input will help us plan future conference schedules that work best for PACT families.

Field Trip Highlights

Field Trip Highlights
Our students had some exciting learning experiences beyond the classroom:
  • Kindergarten visited Stages Theater on February 6 to see Giraffes Can’t Dance.
  • First Grade students traveled to the Minnesota Children’s Museum on March 2 for a day of hands-on exploration and discovery.
These opportunities help bring classroom learning to life!

Friendship Day

On Thursday, February 12, our school celebrated Friendship Day. Students decorated their boxes, exchanged cards, and enjoyed celebrating kindness with their classmates.

A special thank you to our Safety Patrol team, led by advisor Jody Krueger, who delivered over 1,000 balloons across the school to make the day extra memorable for students.

The 100th Day of School

Many classrooms celebrated the 100th day of school on February 25. Kindergarten students had fun dressing up like grandmas and grandpas at the “old age” of 100! In addition to the fun, teachers incorporated math activities centered on the number 100 throughout the day.

Supporting Our Teachers

PACT teachers continue to grow their practice through professional development. Recent training sessions included:
  • Key Learning Signs for Early-Onset Mental Illness in Children and Adolescents
  • Communication Plan: School-to-Home
  • Inquiry-Based Instruction

These learning opportunities help our staff continue providing the best possible support for students.

Arrival & Dismissal Update

Thank you to the many families who consistently follow our arrival and dismissal procedures. Your cooperation helps ensure a safe and efficient process for everyone.

Mr. Chue Yang (PACT Technology Director) and I are also reviewing other platforms similar to Silent Dismissal that may offer stronger integration with Infinite Campus as we look ahead to the upcoming school year.

From Our Classrooms…

I recently had the opportunity to visit Ms. Jankowski’s Character Corner, where students were learning about the character trait “Cooperation.”

Students explored cooperation across several subjects:
  • In music, they sang about how peanut butter and jelly cooperate to make the perfect sandwich.
  • In science, they discussed how the organs in our bodies cooperate to keep us healthy.
  • In literacy, they learned how letters cooperate to form words—and words cooperate to form sentences.

At the end of the lesson, students reflected on which friend they cooperated with during their learning stations. It was a wonderful example of character education in action! Self-control is the new focus for March.

Thank you for being such an important part of the PACT Elementary community. We appreciate your continued partnership in helping our students learn, grow, and thrive.

Warmly,

Lara Bronson, Ed.D.
PACT Elementary Principal
